Cure Face Acne

Facial acne, while the most common, can also be the most frustrating. It usually appears in the oilier T-zone where there are large numbers of sebaceous glands, the area encompassing the forehead, nose and chin. But, as we know, acne is not necessarily limited to the T-zone and can erupt on the cheeks as well.

It's important to understand what causes acne in order to select an effective acne medication. Besides external causes, acne can also be caused by internal imbalances due to diet, stress or changes in your body.

Use facial soaps specifically designed for acne. Nowadays, there are sulfur-based soaps that are made to heal and dry acne fast. Wash your face at least two times every day. First wash should be done in the morning when you wake up and second, at night before you sleep.

Bacteria in pores is one cause of facial acne. Reduce the amount of bacteria by using toners containing anti-bacterial agents like alcohol, peroxide and benzalkonium chloride, and by using creams that contain benzoyl peroxide, which kill bacteria as well as cause the skin to regenerate faster.

Don't pop that pimple right away. Popping a pimple prematurely, before you can see the puss about to burst the skin, can cause a mild skin infection, a cyst (by pushing the infection further down into the pore), or even worse, a terrible scar. Wait until you can see the yellow puss about to break through the skin.

Do not wear makeup if possible. Makeup products can clog your pores, cause more blackheads and pimples. If you have to wear makeup, make sure it is water-based. Be sure to clean your makeup brushes regularly and cleanse your skin before you sleep.

It's commonly known that sun also helps to reduce acne, however, this is only a short term solution. Studies have shown that getting a lot of sun makes your acne even worse in the long run, so I wouldn't recommend this as a treatment.

Drink a lot of water. This will not keep your skin moist but will help in overall upkeep of your health (and in turn your skin). It might seem a bit awkward to some, however, this is an important skin care tip.

You also must keep your hair clean as well. Hair oils and dirt can clog the tubes that lead to the oil glands to the top of the skin. Your hands are another way of transmitting dirt and oils to your skin.

Shaving is actually a great exfoliating treatment the removes dead skin. However you should never shave an area that is infected or inflamed. Always use a shaving cream if your skin is sensitive.

Acne Myths - Everything You've Ever Heard About Acne is Wrong!

What the Doctors don't want you to know: The secrets, the lies, the unspoken truth about acne. You can't handle the truth!

But here's the truth, I'll be honest, I know how you feel, I really do. So if it's really that easy why didn't anything work for me? Yet no matter how hard I tried nothing ever seemed to change... until

I think I was finally starting to understand what I had been missing all alone, finally I cut could through all the hype and get the truth.

There are 8 acne myths you're not get rid of acne like you really want... Guaranteed!

Frequent washing may further flare up acne?

Acne is not caused by the environmental dirt. It is the blockage of sebaceous glands that cause acne. With frequent washing, you may further spread the infection and get scars.

Toothpaste can cure acne?

Toothpaste cannot cure acne. For acne cure, you have to use topical such as benzoyl peroxide. Antibiotics will help if you have inflammation. Salicylic acid is another good medicine for application. Ask your doctor before using anything.

It is not teenagers only, but anyone can get acne. Anybody can get acne. It is not related only to teenagers. Most of the teenagers get it because of hormonal changes in the teen years.

Rosacea is a severe for of acne?

Rosacea has no relation to acne. It is a different disorder though it mimics acne sometimes.

You can get acne on other parts of the body other than the face?

You can get acne wherever there is a sebaceous gland connected to a hair follicle. Places such as upper arms, chest, etc. are all prone to acne.

Acne is just a cosmetic disease?

Yes, acne does affect the way people look and is not otherwise a serious threat to a person's physical health. However, acne can result in permanent physical scars--plus, acne itself as well as its scars can affect the way people feel about themselves to the point of affecting their lives.

Popping pimples will help them go away faster?

Popping a pimple may make it seem less noticeable temporarily, but popping can cause it to stay around longer. By squeezing pimples and zits, you can actually push bacteria further into the skin, causing more swelling and redness - and sometimes causing a red or brown mark or scar to form. Sometimes marks can last for many months and true scars (dents and pits) will last forever.

The sun will help get rid of acne?

The sun may work in the short-term to hasten the clearing of existing acne while reddening your skin, thus blending your skin tone with red acne marks. However, a sun burn is actually skin damage. Sun exposure causes irritation which can make acne worse. People will often notice their skin breaking out as it heals from sun damage. The sun is a short-term band-aid which will often bite back with more acne in the weeks following exposure. Having said that, I don't want to give the impression that the sun is evil. It is not. We get our vitamin D from the sun for instance. Limiting sun exposure on acne prone areas of your body is most likely prudent, but some exposure from time to time is not only unavoidable, but is perfectly okay.

Tips To Get Rid Of Acne

This may come as a surprise... but acne can easily be kept under control in most cases with just a few simple changes to your daily routine.

I suffered with acne as a teenager. If I had known back then what I am about to share with you, I would never have had to go through the trauma and embarrassment which tends to go hand in hand with acne.

The first and most important step of keeping acne away, is to keep your face clean.

Clean your face with plenty of water several times a day (atleast twice a day). Use a good cleanser that is suited to your skin type, but don't use a product that is too harsh as to damage your skin. Your sought after outcome is for clean, clear and blemish-free skin, not damaged acne-free skin.

Protect your skin with a good moisturizer.

If you don't protect your skin, and you allow it to become too dry, your oil glands with start to overwork trying to compensate. This will ofcourse have a negative effect and will pave the way for acne to appear.

Drink plenty of water. Ofcourse filtered or bottled water is always better than tap water.

You should drink even more water after eating foods such as "Junk" type foods. This extra water will rid your body faster of the ammunition that would normally start off an acne rampage.

Try to eat a healthy diet. The words "we are what we eat" are words you should definitely keep in mind when battling acne.

Lots of fresh vegetables and fruit are wonderful for keeping your body healthy and for keeping acne away!

Vitamins can on occasion help with your battle also!

Sometimes, in severe cases of acne, there is a lacking of vitamins involved. Consulting your doctor and health food expert about this will soon put you on the right path to healthier skin. Guidance is needed for some vitamins as to the safe dosage you need, so aways check before you start on a new course of vitamins.

Washing your hair regularly also plays a large part in keeping acne away.

Just like with cleaning your face, you should also care for your hair with regular washing and the correct conditioning and care. You also have oil glands in your scalp, and you don't want these to become too overactive either.

Don't soak up too much sun.

Apart from the obvious risks of skin cancer, too much sun will dry your skin out. This will cause your skin to age faster, and will damage your skin. Remember what you are trying to acheive here.....clear blemish-free skin, not wrinkly skin!!

The Best Method For Treating Adult Acne

It is a common myth that only teenagers and those in their adolescent years going through puberty experience acne. While it is true that teens make up a majority of the acne-infected population, it can hit at any age, including adulthood. It's a skin condition which is inflammatory and hits those with fair skin the most. Adult acne is mostly caused by a hormonal imbalance in the body, usually seen in women who are going through pregnancy of menopause. The hormonal imbalance leads to oils building up in the pores of the skin which clog them up and create acne. This is a condition which a surprising number of adults suffer from.

Taking care of your acne when you are in your adult years is just as important as taking care of it when you were younger. When you go in search of an acne-treatment product, your goal should be to find one that will get rid of the blemishes and prevent scarring from forming on your effected areas. Make sure you purchase products that don't contain potent chemicals that may damage your skin further.

If you are suffering from adult acne and it is not too severe of a case, then you can treat it when commonly used topical treatments, including oral medication (antibiotics). If you have a more severe form of adult acne, then it is highly recommended that you opt for systemic therapy, which consists of isotretinoin, corticosteroid injections, and oral medications such an antibiotics and contraceptives.

In this country, medicines such as benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin are commonly used to treat adult acne. Other topical retinoid treatments include adapalene, tretinoin, and tazarotene.

The important thing to remember in your search for a cure or way of treating your acne is to be patient. Not every product on the market will work for everyone, since everyone has different types of skin. Stay positive and keep up the battle.

How To Get Rid Of Body Acne

Many of us have gone through acne flare-ups in our teens. However, some of us may still get yacne in our adult years. Those who have acne on the face are likely to have acne on the body. Body acne is often found on the back and chest, and sometimes on the arms and legs. Just like with facial acne, the development of acne scars are highly possible on the body.

The skin on the body is more active in terms of producing oils, sweat, and hormonal levels. It is also more exposed to irritants such as when the skin is constantly rubbing against clothing. When you sweat from daily activities or exercise, the sweat and oils tend to accumulate on your body's skin pores, giving bacteria an opportunity to proliferate and cause irritation, infection, and inflammation. This article will show you some ways on how to get rid of bod acne.

Practice Good Hygiene

One of the first things you can do to eliminate body acne is by getting into a daily cleansing regimen. Practice good hygiene and shower everyday and after you exercise. Doing this can flush out a good amount of bacteria and excess oils that clog up the pores. However, do not over-wash, as this can make the sebaceous glands in your skin to produce excess sebum. Moreover, use gentle cleansers with no added fragrances or other additives that can irritate and dry the skin. Exfoliate every now and then with a body scrub or loofa to get rid of dead skin cells that clog pores and cause body acne.

Hydrate Inside And Out

After taking a shower, make sure to moisturize with a body lotion, preferably with sunscreen. Lotions keep your body supple and hydrated, preventing excess dryness that causes body acne. Drink enough water (8 glasses daily) to flush out toxins and improve blood circulation. A body free of toxins and with good blood circulation helps nutrients and oxygen reach the skin effectively.

Make Lifestyle Changes

Eat more fruits and vegetables, as these contain antioxidants that fight against free radicals that damage skin. Continue to exercise, as exercising helps flush out toxins through sweat.

Get Proper Treatment

Another key to getting rid of body acne is by using the right treatment. You should find a treatment that cleanses pores, soothes inflammation, and gets rid of dead skin cells at the same time. Some treatments contains acne-fighting agents that do all those important tasks. For instance, you can use the Botanical Acne Mask and Spot Treatment to suck out excess oil in the skin, kill bacteria, unclog pores, and improve absorption of other treatment agents; at the same time, you can use the Botanical Body Acne Wash to slough off dead skin cells and improve blood circulation to achieve clearer, younger-looking skin.

Using a combination of products can enhance results. In addition to that, practicing good hygiene, hydrating your body, eating healthy, and exercising regularly can make you achieve even better results.

Don't Believe The Numerous Myths About Acne

Acne is one health problem that is surrounded by a lot myths. The facts about acne are swallowed by the myths, and a lot of people fall for the myths instead of the facts, even when the facts of acne are brought home to them.

Why is this?

Well, the simple reason is that both the facts and myths are interwoven making it almost impossible for an acne sufferer to decipher the truth from the falsehood. So they wallow in a very traumatic and embarrassing physically condition they loath all their lives.

And need I tell you that acne myths have done so much to perpetuate acne in many people? A lot of them have had their skins damaged as a result of acne myths. Acne myths are so powerful that people accept them without a second thought. I hope you are not following a fantastic acne regimen that will damage your skin instead of bringing you relief from acne.

However, it will do you a lot of good to know some of the popular acne myths so as to avoid them:

Fatty foods cause acne: How this is so has no scientific backing, though greasy foods are not good for your general well being. Eating fatty food can bring about other health conditions that may ignite acne eruptions on your skin. So to be on the safe side, keep away from fatty foods.

Eating Chocolates cause acne: There is no prove of this, but too much of any food Just is bad for your liver and since your liver produces waste, this can have some adverse effect on your skin. Do not eat too many chocolates; they can impair your health.

Sun Bathing or Natural light treats acne: This is deceptive to a very large extent, because drying the skin with sun can even make the skin dryer and cause more acne breakout. Do not be deceived because sun drying may make acne appear dried and healing; it does not cure acne.

Cleanliness Prevents and Cures Acne: It is a good habit to be clean, but a lot of people believe their acne problems are caused by a lack of cleanliness so they begin an incessant routine of scrubbing to make those pimples go away. This is not necessary. Washing your face or the affected part with mild soap and soft sponge just two times a day is enough. Do not scrub and rub, you skin will be irritated and cause even more acne breakout.

The above are the most popular acne myths. There several others not mentioned here, what you should bear in mind is that acne is not headache and so does not disappear like one.

There are many orthodox, natural and alternative acne treatments available. If you are not being treated by a professional, you will have to try several available treatments to find what works for you. What works for someone else may or may not work for you.

How To Treat And Prevent Acne

When it comes to "treating" acne, there are many different methods and routes you can use, each having different advantages and disadvantages.

* Taking doctor prescribed medications
* Using over the counter treatments

Acne Tips - Top Ways To Get Rid Of Acne

Acne can be a rather devastating problem for many that suffer from it. It can lead to poor self esteem which can affect people in their careers as well as their personal lives. There are many different kinds of acne treatment solutions in the market and it can be difficult to select one that might work for you.

The truth is that there really is no single cure for acne as everyone's acne problem is unique. The best strategy to get rid of acne is to simply pick one acne treatment you have not tried before and test it for at least 30 days before you decide whether or not it is working.

The most common kinds of treatments in the market right now involve facial cleansing. These kinds of acne treatment systems usually involve a 3 step process. The first is to cleanse the skin, followed by applying a toner of some sort and then finally applying an acne prevention cream that will help to keep the pores clear and your skin oil free.

These kinds of programs obviously work well for many otherwise they would not exist as long as they have so if you have not tried them yet then go ahead and pick one that you trust and try it. Make sure that the cleanser you use has as many natural ingredients as possible and also has low acidity. This is important to prevent the skin from over drying which can actually make your acne worse and your skin look rough and dull.

Also look for a system that does have a toner of some sort because they are very good at removing further dirt and oil from your skin. Often just cleaning the skin with a cleanser is not good enough so a toner can make a difference. Be sure to check the ingredients contained in the products and again seek as natural a product you can find as they tend to be the most gentle on your skin and have the least side effects.

Other acne treatment systems go one step further and not only focus on cleansing your skin but on also internal cleansing. Many people believe that acne is not only caused by poor skin cleansing but also by a toxic internal environment. In order to reduce the toxins within you these programs will concentrate on performing internal cleansing.

Internal cleansing can be done in many different ways. Perhaps the best approach is to go on a juice fast. This will usually involve taking one to three days and only consuming freshly squeezed juices from fresh fruits and vegetables. Use a juicer of some sort to make the juices yourself.

It is important to not use store bought juices as these are usually quite high in preservatives and other chemicals. Also seriously consider buying the organic fruits and vegetables if possible. It may cost a little more but remember that since organic products usually contain more nutrition you do not need to consume as much so just reduce portion sizes.

You can also get many kits that are sold in health food stores that can help to clean your internal system. These programs can also be very effective so make sure to follow the instructions and also look for the ones that contain natural ingredients as they tend to work the best. Keep an open mind and try some of these approaches to help you get rid of acne permanently.

Acne really is a serious problem, it deteriorates a person's self esteem and confidence. There is a way to get rid of acne for everyone. Say Goodbye To Acne - Three Easy Steps, Acne Skin Care and Treatment Product Information

Got acne? If your answer is yes, you are just one of the millions that are in the same boat. And chances are you have also hoped to find an acne skin care and treatment product that would zap those zits!

Well, there are tons of acne treatments out there. Sadly, most of them don't get rid of your acne - but they do manage to empty your wallet a few dollars at a time.

Now, before we look at the type of acne skin care and treatment product you should go for, let's take a look at a few things that you can do right away to help your acne. These are easy to follow and will make a difference in the long run.

1) Try to style your hair in a way that keeps it off your face. I hate to say it my friend, but your hair is dirty! Actually, really dirty! When it touches your face, bacteria and oil can be transferred to your face. Also, wash your hair frequently. This can make a big difference!

If you are a guy, try to keep your hair short. I tried to have the "rocker look" when I was a teenager and had long hair. As soon as I cut my hair my acne got a lot better.

2) Try to avoid stress. Ok - easier said than done! But stress puts a toll on your body and get definitely play a factor in acne breakouts. Make sure to exercise(a proven stress buster) and learn not to sweat the little stuff. Also, when you are going through a stressful time, wash your face with an acne skin care and treatment product an extra time each day. This will help to fight off new acne.

3) Don't scrub! When you wash your face, be gentle. I have seen some people go absolutely nuts washing their face. They rub so hard as though they want to make sure every little drop of soap gets soaked up. This is bad news. Your skin will get irritated and inflamed - two things that can lead to acne.

There are more tips but I don't want to take up too much time here. Just go to The Crazy Health Nut website(link at the bottom of this article) for more tips. It's worth reading. When it comes to finding an acne skin care and treatment product that works, make sure you find a "system" - not just a product. You want something that attacks acne from all angles to make sure you get the clear skin you want.

That's a big problem with the stuff in the drug stores like clearasil or Oxy. They might help a little at first, but they don't actually kill your acne in the long run. You want something that is going to attack the bacteria associated with acne, unplog your pores, kill the oil on your face and reduce the production of it for the future and also soothe and repair your skin cells. You won't get this from one product alone - you want a "kit" that has it all in one.

Don't get discouraged if you have tried products that didn't work. There are proven acne skin care and treatment product s that work unbelievably well. The best ones offer a full money back guarantee so you have nothing to worry about. If it doesn't work for you - you get your cash back. Have a look at The Crazy Health Nut website - it has acne product reviews that will help you make the right choice.

Good luck!

How Do Acne Treatments Work?

Acne treatments work differently, so it is important for patients to know what these cures can do so that they can find what is appropriate for their level of condition and for their type of skin. Below is an overview of how common acne cures work.

Antibacterial acne treatments

The most common of this type of cure are topical creams or lotions with benzoyl peroxide. There are also those that contain sulfur or salicylic acid that can be applied to the affected areas. Topical antibacterials work by getting rid of bacteria and by peeling off or removing dead skin cells. Since these topical treatments act like skin bleach, they do not allow bacteria to build a resistance against them over time like other acne cures usually do. These treatments, though, can cause mild irritation or pigmentation when used excessively. They are good for mild to moderate conditions.

Contraceptives and hormonal treatments

Contraceptives, or anti-testosterone medications, are effective for women who suffer from acne. They work by reducing the levels of androgenic hormones in women which are believed to cause acne breakouts. Cortisone, another form of hormonal treatment, can be injected directly to the pimple to reduce inflammation. This form of treatment should be discussed with a dermatologist first before being used since it can cause certain negative reactions, particularly the loss of natural skin color.

Laser procedures

Laser treatments act on acne by burning away the sebaceous gland that produces the oil-causing pimple. It also destroys the bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes, which causes zits. Lasers are basically effective in curing acne, but skin damage and dryness are potential risks associated with this form of treatment, thus, the use of laser in treating acne should be discussed first with a skin expert. Added to the potential risks is the cost of the treatment which is definitely higher than mere topical or oral cures.

Regular pampering

Having regular facials or steaming can also help cure acne. If the condition is only starting, prevention is still your best option. Pampering your skin or getting it treated regularly will help in preventing pimples from starting. The idea behind facials and steaming procedures is to open the pores of the skin and make dirt and bacteria easier to remove. The procedures are also not just for treating acne but also for making sure that your skin stays clear, smooth and healthy.

Acne treatments vary in how they work. The type of remedy would depend on the level of condition, the type of skin and the treatment's affordability. In any case, a discussion with a skin expert is the first step that we should take to make sure that we don't regret the choice that we will make.

Choosing the Appropriate Acne Treatments for Oily Skin

Acne treatments for people with oily skin are a bit more complicated than those used on other types of skin. From diet to vitamin supplements to daily habits, oily skin needs constant care since it is the type most prone to acne and other skin problems.

Acne treatments for oily or greasy skin should start with one's diet. Although food has never been proven to cause acne on its own, certain meals do aggravate pimples if you already have them. If you have greasy skin, the best thing to do is to increase your intake of vegetables and fresh fruits and avoid junk and processed foods. Drinking lots of water should also be part of your agenda. Aside from helping keep your skin clear, a diet rich in fresh fruits can help your metabolism better and improve bowel movements that can flush out unwanted elements in your body.

Hygiene is also an important aspect of preventing acne in oily skin types. Washing your skin at least twice a day is a must to get rid of the dirt and the excess oil that clog your pores and cause zits to appear. In choosing a facial wash, it is better to use products that will not increase your skin's oil production. Water-based or oil-free facial washes should be used, or soaps with a balanced pH, followed by astringent to get the deep-cleansing effect.

Contrary to most people's belief, oily or shiny skin still needs constant moisturizing. No matter what type of skin we have, moisturizers are skin-care products that we should never do without, particularly when we hit the age of 25 and above. Moisturizing products designed particularly for greasy skin are available over the counter or you can consult your dermatologist for the best one. When it comes to supplements, vitamin A has been found to be good for shiny skin since it helps control the production of oil. A daily dose of this supplement can help balance the tone of oily skin and help in keeping it clear.

If you're not much into bottles and tubes and would prefer a more natural approach, home-based acne solutions are also available for shiny skin. The usual remedies are facial packs and pastes. These facial packs can be used before going to bed, right after cleaning your face. The most common ingredients for oily skin packs are tomatoes or egg whites. Milk or oatmeal mixed with lemon juice is another favorite among people with greasy skin. These materials are said to be effective in controlling the skin's oil production, while providing the much needed moisture to keep the skin hydrated.

Acne treatments for oily or shiny skin do not entail mere formulas applied to your face; they should also include proper eating habits, a healthy lifestyle and proper hygiene. Maintaining an oily skin is more challenging compared with other skin types. If you want to be acne-free, you'd better be ready to put in the work and follow the steps mentioned above.

The Best Acne Treatments Available

Acne can be treated using many different methods, some medicinal, some natural. The best treatment is actually prevention, but not always achievable. Acne affects almost all teenagers and a large portion of the adult population. These treatments range from cheap over the counter remedies to expensive prescriptions. Acne starts from the inside of the body, so it is important to select a treatment that works on the inside of the body as well as on the skin surface.

There are many different brand names, the name on the package is not very important, the important part is the ingredients, mainly the active ingredient. Please take note of the ingredients and do some research so that you can make an informed decision on your acne treatment purchase, some of the ingredients are not very effective and others have harmful side effects.

The ingredient benzoyl peroxide is found in most of the effective treatment medications. It was first developed in the 1920's by Revlon to treat acne. There is one drawback to benzoyl peroxide, in large quantities it is carcinogenic and has been known to induce cancer. However, the concentration of benzoyl peroxide in the typical treatment medicine is 2.5% to 10% for both over the counter and prescription forms.

Some of the most popular treatments for a most of the people who suffer with acne are ProActiv, Accutane, and Retin-A. Your mileage may vary with these products; all of these do not work for all of the people.

ProActiv is an over the counter remedy, it does contain prescription grade Benzoyl peroxide. ProActiv is 3 products in 1. There is a cleanser, a toner, and a lotion. Side effects may be redness, itching, hives, swelling, and a burning sensation when applied. It may also cause dryness and peeling of the skin.

Accutane is an oral prescription medication. Accutane is used to treat severe cases of acne, its drug name is Isotretinoin. Accutane is a brand name of the drug. There are very strict requirements when it comes to prescribing Accutane due to the harmful side effects. It is derived from Vitamin A and is found naturally in small amounts in the body. Accutane should be a last result. It is known to cause birth defects. There are many other side effects associated including depression and other psychological problems.

Retin-A, which is a brand name for the drug Tretinoin has very few side effects, and is available in both prescription and over the counter forms. It comes in the form of a cream or a gel. Retin-A is used to treat a variety of skin problems other than acne.

If you have mild or less than mild acne you should start with ProActiv. If ProActiv doesn't work, try Retin-A next. Avoid using Accutane unless you have severe acne and you have tried all other remedies, and if you do decide that you want to give Accutane a try, make sure that you weigh the potential side effects carefully. As always follow your dermatologist's directions concerning any of these medications.

These are the most effective treatments for acne, there are quite a bit more expensive than other remedies but they have shown to be well worth the expense. People spend billions of dollars purchasing inexpensive treatments that simply do not work. Save your money and investment, get something that works the first time, don't waste your money on the many products that do not work. If you try one of the less expensive methods and it works, then keep using that, but if not, you should try one of the 3 methods mentioned earlier. Always discuss your options with your dermatologist.

Some ways to help cure the acne are to keep the face clean and keep hair and hands off your face, use the treatment as directed, and give the treatment time to work. If you don't do these things, no matter what treatment you try, it will fail. You should also remember that what works for some people may not work for others. The best treatments are not always the best for everyone. What worked for one person may cause your acne to become worse. Try to find the best treatment for you and make sure you give it time to work.

Acne Scarring Treatments - Fight Those Bold Scars With The Best Treatment

Don't let acne scars sully your beauty. You can dispel the acne problem, but scars can really be nightmarish. The modern acne scarring treatments are very innovative and effective. So opt for the treatments after detail consultation with a doctor.

There are different types of acne scars, like anthropic scars, ice pick scars and Hyperthropic scars. You can be a victim of any one of them. The anthropic scars are not so deep and have smooth borders. On the other hand, the ice pick scars are holed deeply and have bold edges. Whereas, the anthropic scars appear as big bumps on the surface of the skin. Remember, that acne color can change depending on its condition.

Scarring is triggered by the injury caused by acne. Actually, the acne destroys the tissues on the affected area. Then after, white blood cells and inflammatory molecules mend the injured tissues, but can leave ugly scar marks while repairing. Scars can be very stubborn and may leave a permanent mark on your skin.

However, don't lose hopes, as more and more refined scarring treatments are emerging with effective results.

Know the Treatments and get your Charm Back

Subcision and fillers: Subcision and Fillers are two different treatments. Subcision is effective in treating anthropic scarring. After local anesthesia, a needle is inserted underneath the skin to absent the detrimental tissue. Fillers is another method, which actually follows the process of flattening the scars. The technology is not considered so effective as it can bring in only temporary results.

Laser resurfacing: Laser resurfacing uses the technique of beaming lights on the affected areas. This can dispel the scarring problem, but damages the outer layer of the skin. The whole process is time-consuming and come with many side effects.

Dermabrasion: Before going into the details of the Dermabrasion technique, it is important to know a little more about your skin. There are two types of skin layers. The upper layer is known as the 'epidermis' and the inner layer is known as the 'dermis'. Superficial dermabrasion removes the epidermis, whereas the deep dermabrasion removes the dermis along with all of the epidermis. Hence, the deep method is more effective and can remove those ugly spots completely.

Punch Excision and Grafting: This process is very effective for ice pick scars. The scars are deeply cut with a kind of cookie-cutter device. Then the wounds are sewn and traded into a tiny lined scar. Later the tiny mark is blended with the skin.

Hence, with so many treatments available, acne scarring is no more a tenacious problem. The treatments are very promising and assure you a perfect skin after few months or years of patience.

A Bodybuilder's Guide To Preventing Acne

Many bodybuilders suffer from acne. Whether it's due to age, high testosterone levels, the hours of sweating at the gym, or cycling, it's a reality of the sport. The body reacts to androgens and acne is the result. (HCG and Clomid are big offenders.)

Since the purpose of bodybuilding is to make the body look bigger, leaner, and BETTER, a case of bad acne can detract tremendously from a physique. Here are a few techniques that can be used to help stop the pimples from raining on your parade.

- Take frequent showers

- Tan one to two times per week

- Change your shirt frequently - even during long workouts or before engaging in cardio

- Hot shower and Clearasil Soap Scrub immediately after training

- Wash bed sheets once per week

- Locate a DHT (Dihydrotestoreone) blocker or more scientifically called a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor; a natural and well affordable one would be Saw Palmetto, which would also protect your prostate as well...and the more pharmaceutical ones such as Dutasteride- more potent with attendant side effects

- Accutane - a popular mainstream product to look into

- Drink 8 to 16 cups of water per day

- Use lava soap on broken out skin

- Avoid picking at any pimples - the oil on your finger leads to more breakouts.

- Sometimes acne is actually ingrown hairs. An unpleasant but necessary step might be popping them and removing the hair with tweezers.

While it is never a fun or "sexy" discussion, acne affects everyone from teenage newbies to the iron game, all the way up to top professional bodybuilders. Since our skin is effectively the "wrapping paper" for the muscles which make up a great physique, it's imperative that we work as hard on making the skin look good, as we do on the muscles beneath.

How Can I Cure or Reduce my Acne?

Acne can be a very frustrating thing for most people especially when they get acne since they were very young. The very first signs of acne will be during the puberty stages and you will get acne on your face, back, shoulders and maybe even your chest. Then there are those unlucky chaps that get acne in their later stages of their life. That's called adult acne. Acne is a very uncomfortable disease and people hate having it since it's so degrading.

If you have acne, you have by now tried your very best to get rid of it. You probably tried various different products from various sources and they didn't work. That's why people with acne tend to be more depressed and unhappy. If you had acne while you were in school you were probably called names or you were teased a lot. That period in your life really affects your self-esteem and many teenagers in the US commits suicide. It destroys your social life to the point where you do not want to meet new people.

Finding ways to cure your acne will definitely give you a boost of confidence and maybe change your entire life. Don't become depressed. Try to stay positive since one CAN improve your acne. It doesn't help you go round feeling lonely and depressed all the time because it will only make the situation so much worse.

Acne is a very serious problem but it can be solved. With the right direction and the right products you can get a clear complexion in no time. You see, your body is a very special mechanism and it reacts different to different types of lifestyles. Maybe you have a very weird diet and that might be the reason you have Acne. Maybe your hormones are so different and on various levels that you have acne bursts during different stages in your life. Maybe you had a very rough puberty stage in your life. This will usually cause you to have adult acne later in life.

Chances are pretty good you have tried everything. This might include over the counter medicines like facial creams, lotions or even pills. You might even have visited the dermatologist and spent a lot of money. Just remember one thing not all dermatologists can help your skin. They normally prescribe very expensive medicines, facial creams or even dangerous procedures. This might not suit you at all.

Did you know that there are actually people that cured their acne?

At this very moment they are feeling and looking better than ever before. Those people will never have to worry about acne again.

Acne And Retin-A

If you have acne, you've probably tried many over-the-counter acne medications for it. But sometimes you need something stronger. There is a class of drugs called retinoids, which are derived from vitamin A. Tretinoin is a part of this group of medications. Tretinoin is the active ingredient in several drugs, including Retin-A. If your doctor thinks Retin-A can help your acne, you will get a prescription for it. It comes in different forms, such as gel or cream. It also comes in different strengths.

When you first start using Retin-A, your skin may get red and irritated. It may sting, or feel warm and tingly. It may burn or itch. It will feel dry and it will peel. It may also actually look as if the acne is getting worse. But over a period of time, usually a few weeks, your skin will adapt, and - hopefully - improve. Tretinoids such as Retin-A work by unplugging pores. This eliminates one of the things that can cause the pimples, zits, blemishes and blackheads we associate with acne. It can also allow other medications to work better.

Retin-A isn't the only drug with tretinoin for acne. Others are adapalene (Differin), and tazarotene (Tazorac)

You should follow your doctor's advice on how to use Retin-A. You may be told to apply it thinly once a day, for example, before you go to bed. Clean your first before applying. But, unless your doctor say otherwise, you should avoid harsh cleansers or astringents. You can apply the Retin-A with your fingertips, if you wash your hands afterwards. Or you can apply it with a gauze pad.

When using Retin-A, make sure you use sunblock or sunscreens with a high SPF. It's also important to call your doctor if you think the redness and peeling is excessive. Your doctor may advise you to use a lower strength of Retin-A. Or you may be told to use it less often. For example, instead of applying it every night, you may use it every other night.

It's also important that you don't apply anything to your face that will dry it even more. Avoid over-scrubbing your face when you wash it, as this will irritate it even more. If you are pregnant, or think you are pregnant, of if you are trying to get pregnant or are breast-feeding, tell your doctor before considering any acne medications. As with any medication, you should store Retin-A in a cabinet out of the reach of any children, where it will also be out of sunlight and heat, and kept away from excessive humidity.

Things to Consider When Seeking the Best Moisturizer Acne-Prone Faces Could Use

The skin on our faces are far more sensitive than the skin on any other part of our body. This is why we purchase different skin care products for our faces. And of course, we want the best of everything - the best astringent, the best camouflage cosmetics, the best moisturizer. Acne is a common skin condition that we buy separate products for, but in some cases, the products we buy for our acne and the products we would normally buy for our facial skin don't exactly go well together.

But if we're thinking about our faces and we're looking for the best moisturizer, acne should be a factor. Acne could be aggravated by any substance that touches the skin, even cleansers and lotions that claim to be hypoallergenic. Moisturizers are especially risky, because some moisturizers contain substances that cause itchiness and irritation. But if one stops moisturizing, the skin on one's face becomes dry and flaky, or would thin and age easily.

Acne is not a permanent condition for most of us, so it should be all right to purchase a moisturizer that is especially mild, in case of acne conditions, even if it is not your favorite brand or the brand that your skin has gotten used to. Once the acne has cleared up, it should be all right to settle on one's old brand or other moisturizers altogether.

For one thing, moisturizers should have a minimum of perfumes and other potentially irritating substances in them. If you have observed that the moisturizer that you have gotten used to is aggravating your acne condition, take note of the ingredients written on the label. Avoiding other moisturizers that have the same active ingredients would be a good start.

Picking out moisturizers that have components that especially nourish the skin is also an asset. Examples of these components are jojoba oil and aloe vera. Aloe vera especially has a cool, soothing feel, and it is known for reducing inflammations on the skin on any part of the body. Using a moisturizer with aloe vera in it may even be good for alleviating your acne condition!

Sensitive facial skin - that is, skin that easily goes into acne outbreaks at the introduction of external substances - could do with facial products that only have 0.5% salicylic acid. In this vein, reducing the salicylic acid content of all your facial products may help. Salicylic acid is sometimes found in large amounts in popular astringents, and are marketed as effective acne controllers - however, some kinds of skin do not react well to high amounts of salicylic acid. If you find that your acne condition actually gets worse when you use salicylic acid products, stop using them as soon as possible - this may help you better tolerate a broader spectrum of commercially available moisturizers. During your search for the best moisturizer, acne may not be such a problem!

Acne affects 90% of people worldwide. Some people are able to stop acne, wiht like the best moisturizer acne, dead in its tracks.. Discover how you can quickly and easily find remedies for acne outbreaks and get the clear skin you deserve by visiting http://www.clear-skin-solutions.com/

Actimine and Nutrition - Regulating Acne

Proactive Acne Medicine is such a common skin condition that many of us may have at least experienced some form of it at least once in our lives. In America alone, it is estimated that almost 85% of the population have the condition in varying degrees of severity. We may know what it feels like to have acne but what is really beneath the surface and what can treatments like Actimine do about it?

What it Is

Before we look at Actimine, let's take a look at what acne really is. Acne is a common skin condition that is often known as pimples or zit. The condition however has a couple of stages. Clogged pores may first result in blackheads and whiteheads. These may eventually heal. If however, they become irritated, they could rupture and become papules or pustules. Papule breakout is the stage in which parts of the skin show small inflamed mounds due to the action of white blood cells. Pustules on the other hand are the result of the white blood cells pushing out on the skin surface.

Causes

Even experts are not sure about the exact causes of proactive acne medicine. The current popular theory is that acne may be the result of many factors working together. Two top factors that may contribute to acne formation are genes and hormones. You are at risk of having the condition if your close family members have had it. Periods of increased or fluctuating hormonal activity could also cause acne breakouts. Current studies are also looking into the role of cosmetics and dietary factors or deficiencies in the occurrence of acne conditions in people. The factor on diet and nutrition is where Actimine may be particularly significant.

How it Forms

Although the causes have not been fully determined, there is a clear idea of how acne forms. The oil in our faces called sebum normally pushes out from our pores. It is believed though that too much sebum production that may be the result of hormonal action and the build up of dead skin cells causes clogs. Once clogs form, bacteria could develop. This is when acne also develops in its various stages.

An Overlooked Aspect

As mentioned, there are now studies that seek to understand the possible role of diet and nutrition in acne formation. Although it is not true that certain foods can cause acne, it is highly possible that the lack of certain nutrients could promote or increase acne formation. This is something that people do not often think about. Proper nutrition could boost the immune system and regulate the production of sebum and bacteria. This is what solutions like Actimine would like to look into.

What Actimine Can Do

Actimine is an acne solution that uses antioxidant nutrient ingredients such as vitamin A, selenium and zinc to fight the formation of acne. Zinc controls the action of hormones that contribute to sebum production. Vitamin A aids zinc in this function. Selenium regulates and reduces inflammation. Methylsulfonyl Methane and Gum Guggul, additional ingredients in Actimine promote the absorption of these important nutrients.

For many of us, Actimine might be the answer to stubborn acne conditions. It should be noted though that Actimine should be used to complement a good treatment solution or program.

Cavyl Stewart runs an exciting new blog on acne and skincare. For more free information and unbiased reviews on Actimine and many others, see http://www.skincaretreatmenttips.com

Natural Acne Treatments - Get Rid Of Acne With No Pills Or Harsh Lotions

Acne is a serious problem that affects millions of people worldwide. There are many Proactive acne medicine treatments that have been developed over the years. Many of them treat the problem of acne only at the level of the skin. Their focus is to clean the skin and keep it oil free and then apply a lotion that is supposed to keep the acne from coming back. However, many natural acne treatment programs focus on lifestyle and the effect one's diet, immediate surroundings as well as stress levels can have on their acne condition.

The belief is that the real cause of acne goes far deeper than just the level of the skin. Many researchers think that the root cause of pimples is really a matter of looking at the kind of lifestyle you are living and that the levels of toxins in your body is a major contributing factor to your acne condition.

External as well as internal cleansing programs are important when it comes to getting rid of acne permanently. There are many ways to clean the skin externally and most people are familiar with these approaches. Using a mildly abrasive cleanser is ideal as it helps to remove the dead skin cells at the surface of the skin. Also it is important to nourish the skin and using natural skin moisturizers such as almond oil is great to keep the skin looking soft and healthy.

Internal cleansing is also very important in any natural acne treatment program. There are many cleansing programs that you can use, just take a look at your local health food store and ask for a full body cleanse package. Going on a juice fast can be a great way to detoxify and clean your internal system naturally. Yes, it does require some discipline to not consume your regular fast food and packaged lunches but you need to focus on how beautiful your skin will look when you finally become acne free. So, going through a bit of pain will be worth it.

Many natural acne treatment programs also address the effect that stress can have on your acne. Many researchers believe that stress contributes greatly to your acne condition and that by simply reducing the levels of stress in your life can make a dramatic difference in your acne. How is stress related to acne? The answer is not fully known however there are many examples of where people that had severe acne took part in stress reduction programs and found their acne condition improving dramatically.

There are many ways to reduce stress from your life. One of the best ways is to learn how to perform meditation. The primary goal of most meditation practices is to help reduce excessive thinking. This has the effect of eliminating significant stress from one's life as most mental stress is caused by simply thinking too much. Meditation will help you to quiet your mind and when you learn to have a quiet mind, you will attain great inner peace and inevitably you will experience less stress in your life.

Natural acne treatment solutions are indeed very effective, perhaps the most effective way to eliminate those pesky zits permanently. They do require a bit of commitment on your part to stick with the program and learn a few new skills but getting rid of acne is worth it. So look for natural acne treatment programs as there are many out there, you can even find them online as e-book programs.

Acne really is a serious problem, it deteriorates a person's self esteem and confidence. There is a way to get rid of acne for everyone. Sometimes it just takes a bit of digging to uncover the solution and to find an effective acne treatment that works well for you.

Natural Facial Peel - Your Natural Acne Treatment

Facial peels are a way to remove acne, acne scars, wrinkles, age spots, and other skin surface problems, but before you go and pay $99 to $299 for your next chemical facial peel from a spa or doctors office, here's some facts about the horrific dangers of these procedures, and more importantly what the safe, natural and more effective alternative may be...

A chemical facial peel is the process of a doctor, or esthetician applying a burning acid to your face and neck. Facial peels are a fruit acid that literally burns the dead skin off your face so a new layer of skin can take it's place.

The problem with fruit acid peels is that acid is insensitive to dead and living cells. It can't tell the difference between cells that are actually dead, and need to be removed from the face and the living, acive and growing cells that, if burned can cause permanent scarring, inflammation, and other painful side effects.

Acid peels do just what they promise to do, they literally burn the skin. the dead skin on the surface of your face is called the corneum. Underneath the corneum is a layer of the skin called the basal cell layer. The basal cell layer is a layer of skin where new skin cells are born and actively growing. If too much damage is done to this precious layer of skin visible scarring can occur.

Acid facial peels are insensitive to this layer of skin. Although they do remove the corneum they can, and often do burn some of the basal cell layer. When acid is applied to the face you literally attack the skin, and the basal cells, feeling the attack, clump together in a desperate attempt to heal the skin quickly. This clumping together of the cells is how scarring occurs.

So what's the alternative?

Well, there are several. Microdermabrasion, though less effective, irritating, abrasive to the skin and does not completely remove the corneum layer of the skin. Jessner Peel, Bio-Medic "Micropeel", Microdermabrasion, Ob agi Blue Peel, Vibrodermabrasion, Crystal Peels, and many others still require that patients sign a "consent form" attesting that you are aware of and understand the risks involved in these procedures...These techniques are injury by design which is not the natural process of skin renewal.

An all natural heat and moisture sensitive enzyme, which removes 100% of the corneum in under 10 minutes is now available on the market. Called the New You Skin Rejuvenating System, it is derived from the all natural aloe vera plant. This enzyme shies away from cells that still contain heat and moisture - signs of life, and instead bond only to dead, dry and "cold" cells on your face. The dead skin literally falls off your face right in front of your eyes and onto the counter in front of you.

Because this enzyme does absolutely no damage to the skin, causes no redness, scarring, heat sensitivity or other scary side effects of facial peels it is completely safe for home use and can be used by anyone regardless of skin type or sensitivity.

So before you spend any more money on invasive procedures that cause damaging side effects look into other methods that may be a more natural and safe alternative to invasive procedures.

Acne Breakouts - What Causes Acne Skin Care Problems?

It is a special day. No matter what special day it is, you can always count on that one thing to always be right there with you. I didn't say it was a good thing! No, it is the unwanted and hated pimple! Why does it seem that those pimples only pop up on those special days that you want to look especially nice? You know, you always break out on picture day, or the day of your interview for a great job, or prom night, or your wedding day! Whatever the occasion, you can be sure it is going to happen! At least, that is how it seems!

Here's the good news. There are some steps you can take to help prevent this from happening on those special days! There doesn't seem to be a miracle acne treatment, however, there are things you can do to help keep those unwanted pests away!

What is Acne?

Acne is a term used for a few different skin irritations. When you have acne, you could have plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples, and even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that can be found on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, and upper arms. Acne tends to affect tween and teens due to their hormonal changes. However, anyone can have acne. Whether you are in your 20's or 40's, everyone can be a target. Acne can lead to emotional and physical scars.

What causes acne breakouts?

Acne is being linked to the hormonal changes a young person endures from childhood to adolescence. The hormones that cause puberty can also cause the sebaceous (oil) glands to produce more oil.

A sebaceous follicle is created when the sebaceous glands are found together with a hair shaft. When a person goes through puberty, the cells of the skin that line the follicle start to shed more quickly. When people develop acne, the cells shed and stick together more often than in people who do not get acne. When the cells mix with the extra amount of sebum (oil), they can plug the opening of the follicle. While this is happening, the sebaceous glands still produce sebum, and the follicle swells up with the oil causing an inflammation on the skin.

Is there a treatment for acne?

Although there are many preventative methods that can be taken to prevent acne, there does not seem to be a cure that will prevent acne forever. There are many different acne skin care medications and acne cream and acne cleanser products promising fast or overnight results. You should take caution when you hear these words. Mild or severe acne does not clear up overnight. It takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks to see the initial results. Once you have cleared up the acne. Continued preventative treatment is necessary to prevent acne from re-appearing.

Because a resolution is determined by the cause of your acne, your skin type and the kind of acne you have, what works for you may not work for another, and vice versa. You will need to research the methods, and determine what route you want to go. Then, all you can do is experiment, until you find something that will work for you!

When should you see a dermatologist?

If you feel the methods you choose are just not working, it may be time to see a dermatologist. While you may feel the expense may be too high, consider the amount of money spent on methods that do not work. A dermatologist will consider the severity of your acne, the type of acne you have, any medical conditions you currently have, and also, your age, skin type, and lifestyle before prescribing a treatment.

Homeopathic Acne Treatment - Fruitful Results Without Side Effects

Being an acne victim, you may try the commercial and natural products for the healing process, but do consider the effectiveness of the homeopathic acne treatment, which has brought fruitful results to many victims. It is an apt scientific treatment, which directly tries to find and then solve the causes of the problem. The plus point is that, the treatment comes with minus side effects. Though the whole process of the treatment is quite slow, it can reap miraculous results.

First, know the Causes of Acne Breakouts

Millions of people worldwide is tormented by the acne problem. Unfortunately, few realize the gravity of the matter and leave it untreated. Taking care at its primary stage can actually reduce its impact in the future and more so, gift you an acne-free skin for the rest of your life. Acne is actually triggered by the sebaceous glands, which produce excessive oil detrimental for your skin.

When too much of oil is trapped in the plugged follicle (pores), bacteria tend to feed on it. This leads to inflammation, swelling, reddishness and unbearable pain. Homeopathic treatment at this point can bring effective results by controlling the gland disorder and eventually killing all those bacteria, by opening the clogged pores. The treatment as a whole entails healthy diet, washing of hands and face at regular intervals and not picking the pimples at all. Nonetheless, homeopathic treatment also augments the skin's resistance to infection.

Heal Your Problem with the Following Homeopathic Treatments

Hepar sulphuris calcareum - If your acne takes quite some time to heal and causes painful eruptions, then this remedy is suitable. Any person who needs this remedy usually feels cold and get snappy quickly.

Calcarea carbonica - Those who frequently suffer from acne breakouts and quickly get tired of exertion and are quite overweight, they need this type of remedy. Here, the victims are always anxious and have extreme craving for sweets.

Antimonium tartaricum - When a person develops large pustules with bluish-red marks and is very sensitive to touch, calls for this type of treatment.

Silicea - When the acne is deeply embedded below the surface of the skin with low immune resistance and bulging nodes needs this remedy. Those affected, feel chilly and tend to sweat at night.

Sulphur - If you develop inflamed eruption, which may feel itchy and look reddish, then this remedy is the best. Those who need this particular medical attention, tend to live a disorderly and messy life.

However, the dosage of the medicines matter a lot. Frequency of the dosage depends on the condition of the acne victim.

Give a try to the homeopathic treatment and fight that stubborn acne.

How To Understand Acne

Acne is a highly complex condition that involves many parts of the body. It tends to show up as only eruptions on the face and else where on your skin. It is a signal that you have problems somewhere deep within your body. Acne can be caused by a dirty colon, poor food digestion, a weak liver and other conditions that will cause your blood to carry too much toxic materials.

In order to clear acne, it is not always possible to stick to one treatment and expect it to go away. However, it may be possible to just use one special cream and see your acne literally disappear.

Acne may go away by just doing one thing but do not expect that forever. A facial cream, proper diet, herbal treatment, exercise, and colon cleanse themselves may not be able to get the job done. You will need to perform a certain combination to see desired results.

An important concept to remember is if your facial pores are not open or cleaned, they can build up toxic oil which is very hard to clean. This results in a growth or pimple that begins to increase in size as more toxic oil tries to reach the surface of your skin. If the pore walls burst under the skin, white blood cells move in to digest the collagen around the pores. This results in major scars appearing on your face.

To avoid visible scars, you will need to start an acne cleansing program before or just as soon as you see acne coming. This will ultimately prevent pimples and back heads getting to the point where they are severely infected and burst.

How Do I Get Rid Of My Acne?

This is the question that usually begins in the early teen years and can sometimes still be asked by people when they enter their early 20s. In fact, sometimes people can experience acne for the first time when they are in their 30s or 40s, but even at that age they want to know the best way to get rid of their acne.

The best way to start looking at the cure is to get an understanding. Basically acne is a skin condition caused by the overproduction of sebum, and although acne is not just a facial problem, it is the most common area that people want to have cleared up. Unfortunately, these days there are so many different acne treatments and products, cleansers and the like that it is difficult to know where to start. Well, in my opinion the best thing to do is learn how to get rid of acne and keep your skin healthy in as natural a way as possible, and by doing this will teach you good habits for life. Now it is worth keeping in mind that getting rid of acne can be done with over the counter skin care treatments, but I think alternative acne treatments are worth trying, as in the long run, they are much less dangerous then some of the acne medicine offered by dermatologists.

Now because there is big money to be made from treatments, it invariably brings with it old wives tales and myths. In fact, skin experts have to spend a great deal of time dispelling acne myths. But on the whole the main types of skin blemishes are blackheads and white heads. Now although having acne does not mean you have dirty skin or are unclean it is helpful to use a proper cleanser to remove dirt, bacteria and excess oils that can contribute to skin breakouts. But, make sure it is a good quality cleanser as you may have sensitive skins and if your cleanser is not natural ingredients you may find that it is abrasive and irritating, making your condition worse. Then, the next area to look at is your diet.

Although eating lots of fries will not necessarily give you acne it will not be doing you any good either. So, make sure you have lots of fresh fruit and veg in your diet, and most importantly, make sure you drink plenty of fresh water to flush the toxins from your skin. I would highly recommend you follow these steps before going down the route of using harsh chemicals on your skin.

So, to avoid all the antibiotics, topical treatments and the like offered to you by your dermatologist, these are a couple of areas to get you started. Also, it is worth working out before you start what you are going to use to cleanse your face, and what changes you are going to make to your diet, and then stick to it in order to see the results from your acne treatment, and remember to give it a bit of time. And by doing this you will develop good habits that will last you a lifetime.

General information on separation anxiety

It is natural for human beings to dislike the notion of being separated from someone they care about, or feel connected to in some way. The idea of no longer having significant contact, particularly physical contact, with someone that has become a “part of our life,” as some might say, often results in some unpleasant emotional reactions.

This negative emotional response prompts us to attempt to avoid such thoughts and possibilities whenever we can, as a means of preventing or escaping the associated discomfort. However, for some people, the idea of losing someone they care about takes on the form of a near-constant obsession. This condition, known as separation anxiety, is a complex psychological matter.

People who have separation anxiety still feel the usual dislike and discomfort when considering the potential loss. There is still a general sense of sorrow and bereavement when the possibility is brought up, and it is still considered to be a negative event. However, separation anxiety has patients virtually obsessing over that distinct and unpleasant facet of life.

The condition is characterized by behavior that may or may not be considered odd by the untrained observer. It often includes constant worry and anxiety over the possibility of losing an important person, typically a mother or father figure. Some argue that separation anxiety is a sign of excessive dependence on the physical presence of an individual, as a means of reassuring the patient of their own stability. Emotional distress during a period of separation is the most common sign, with a sudden lifting of the patient's mood once the object of their focus is once again nearby. Another common sign is the patient showing more physical cues that are similar to withdrawal from narcotics or alcohol whenever the target is not present.

People suffering from separation an
xiety have a tendency to turn inwards when separated, letting the disorder have an adverse effect on their emotional condition. Cases have been reported where patients exhibit sudden signs of partial social withdrawal, or a sudden drop in one's ability to interact socially during the separation period. In some instances, it may also have a physical effect, with movements being sluggish and the body having languid, lifeless movements. It is not only during periods of separation that symptoms are exhibited, however. According to recent findings, separation anxiety also manifests itself as an inability to sleep without the presence of the target person or object.

A patient that has separation anxiety is often also diagnosed with various other disorders, such as ADHD and bipolar disorder. Bipolar personalities have been shown to have a statistically high number of patients who also have separation anxiety, with the shifts between manic and depressive behavior being linked to the presence of a certain figure or object.

In rare cases, dissociative identity disorder also stems from separation anxiety. This occurs when the brain gradually develops alternate personalities that are more capable of handling the separation than the actual persona. This is a rare instance, however, as DID sufferers generally develop the second personality to adapt to a specific childhood trauma, such as sexual abuse.

According to some unconfirmed reports, there is a small percentage of stalkers who have separation anxiety. Supposedly, this occurs because the obsession with keeping the person close by has started to form a compulsion to prevent any form of prolonged separation. In essence, the person has become obsessed with staying close to an individual whenever possible, and has taken measures to minimize, if not outright eliminate, the chances of the two being disconnected.

NATUROPATHIC PHILOSOPHY, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF ACNE

`Naturopathy’ or `natural medicine’ is a largely pseudoscientific approach said to `assist nature’ that is `support the body’s own innate capacity to achieve optimal health’ and `facilitate the body’s inherent healing mechanisms’.

Naturopathic medicine is very safe, natural therapy with services of different alternative therapies. The age old philosophy of naturopathic medicine is based on six important principles which have their roots is Indian [Ayurveda], Chinese [Traditional Chinese medicine], Native American and Greek [Hippocratic] cultures.

The following are the six principles of naturopathic therapy.

1- The healing power of nature – naturopathy is basically the body’s inherent ability to treat itself

2- Identify and treat the cause – naturopathy believes in finding the underlying cause rather than eliminating it

3- First do no harm – naturopathy uses methods and medicines to reduce the further harmful effects

4- Doctor as a teacher – naturopathy educates patients and emphasizes self responsibility

5- Treat the whole person – naturopathy treats all aspects of body that is physical, mental, emotional and spiritual

6- Prevention is better than cure – naturopathy prevents the formation of disease into more severe condition

Although acne seems to be a disorder of skin oil glands, naturopathic philosophy is best suited for diagnosis and treatment of acne.

Naturopathic diagnosis is the best approach for identification of acne and this could be attributed to the following beneficial reasons

- It will help the patient to identify the cause of acne and also help in specific treatment for acne symptoms

- It will help in revealing the underlying conditions that impede body’s ability to function normally

- It will help to determine the proper assessment tools which are most helpful in establishing a treatment strategy specific to patient’s health

- It will help to identify and treat the underlying root cause of acne and avoid further damages to skin

- It will be a comprehensive treatment plan with range of complementary and alternative therapies.

A naturopathic doctor or health care provider will take a complete history of the patient that includes skin care, cosmetic use, diet, factors triggering flare-ups, medications used, occupational and environmental exposures, prior treatment and an examination of the face, chest and other blemishes, lesions and scars. This assessment is oriented towards the determining what is impeding patients body’s ability to function normally.

As far as naturopathic treatment for acne is concerned, from a naturopathic view point acne is an external manifestation of an internal imbalance. Nutrition is the key to treating acne. In 420 BC Hippocrates, the father of medicine said let food be your medicine and medicine be your food’.

The poor quality foods eaten by an individual clogs the pores and attracts bacteria however with consumption of better quality foods the sebaceous glands get all of the nutrients and are bound to produce good quality oil which flows well and nourishes the skin.

In nutrition, a high protein, low carbohydrate diet including vegetables, sea weeds, fish (salmon, sardines, and trouts), whole grains, sprouts and fruits is advisable and avoiding all fried foods, dairy products, processed foods, junk foods, sugar, margarine, nut butters, citrus except [lemon juice] and caffeine is suggested.

In addition, consumption of plenty of water everyday is beneficial; water helps in retaining moisture of the skin keeping it full, fresh and youthful.

Thus, by changing our diet and adopting a healthy lifestyle we can often change or reverse course of illness and restore our health. Thus, the possible lifestyle changes to treat acne in addition to eating diet high in raw vegetables and fruits and avoiding all forms of sugar, alcohol, butter, caffeine, cheese, chocolate, cocoa, cream, fat, margarine, processed food, and drinking plenty of water, beneficiary dietary supplements are also required. The beneficiary dietary supplements are

Alpha-sterol – helps open blocked pores

Tea Tree oil – is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. Tea tree oil contains antimicrobial substance that will eliminate [Propionibacterium acnes] the causative bacterial strain of acne, thus reducing inflammation associated with skin.

Vitamin B3- improves circulation to surface of skin.

Acidophilus Probiotics – helps replenish natural good body bacteria.

Chromium Picolinate – reduces skin infections

Colloidal Silver – is natural antibiotic can be applied topically or taken internally.

Starting from diet and clinical nutrition, naturopathic treatment covers a myriad of healing practices including

Herbal medicine – once naturopathic doctor has diagnosed the lifestyle and dietary factors aggravating acne, they will decide on combination of herbs specific to acne caused and symptoms. Nevertheless, ayurvedic formulations using herbal extracts of plants like Bhavprakasha Nigantu and Charak Samhita have been found successful in treating acne.

Acupuncture – Auricular [acupuncture applied to the ear] and electro acupuncture therapies reducing symptoms of acne.

Homeopathy – There have been few studies on effective homeopathic remedies. Usually acne based treatments depend on homeopath’s knowledge and clinical experience and also patients physical, emotional and intellectual make up.

Mind or Body medicine – Emotional stress can worsen acne therefore relaxation therapies such as hypnosis, biofeedback together with cognitive imagery improve acne symptoms.

Though relaxation using hypnosis an individual becomes relaxed and this positive approach influences the activity of hormones and the immune system contributing to reduced inflammation of acne.

Biofeedback is a technique in which an individual is trained to control certain internal bodily processes that normally occur involuntarily such as hear rate [measured by an EKG] and muscle tension [measured by an EMG].

Guided imagery involves formation of mental pictures to promote a variety of favorable physical and emotional effects. This combination of biofeedback and cognitive imagery allows the person to visualize and understand bodily changes when he or she changes form being tense to being relaxed.

Hydrotherapy – is the use of water to treat acne and maintain health. Colon cleansing using hydrotherapy is the alternative medicine that has improved the conditions of acne. Many practitioners feel that overall bodily health is achieved once colon is clean and free from toxins.

Physical therapy covering photodynamic therapy and ultrasound – Both techniques are safe and painless and its duration varies with the severity of acne.

Photodynamic therapy is improving treatment of acne, using a topical medication called aminolevulinic acid which is effective and ultrasound technique is used to calm and soothe red, inflamed skin, enhancing the healing process.
